Anicorn Watches: Automatic Design
Anicorn is a young watchmaker, created in 2014 by the two designers Joe Kwan and Chris Chan. Like many brands, Anicorn first launched a crowdfunding campaign on kickstarter, which was a real success.
Anicorn changes the reading of time with a unique concept. The dial of the watch has no hands, but 3 concentric discs. Each disc corresponds to the hour, minutes or seconds. A mark on the top of the case indicates the line of reading to follow. You just have to follow this line from top to bottom to read the time. This reading of time is very intuitive and easy to interpret.
The brand took care of the smallest details, until the choice of the typography used on the dial, coming from the Swiss foundry DINAMO. The signature collection, called the Series 000, is a true jewel of watchmaking. The glass is sapphire, almost impossible to scratch, with an anti-reflective coating. The Anicorn Series 000 watches are equipped with a Miyota 8215 automatic movement. This 21 jewels movement offers a 40-hours power reserve.
The K452 collection is inspired by the exoplanet Kepler-452b, discovered by NASA in July 2015. This planet is considered as the cousin of the Earth, orbiting a star, such as the earth around the Sun. The disc of the K452 series takes up this rotation thanks to its 3 discs. The watches are equipped with an automatic 24 jewels movement, with a 42-hour power reserve. The glass is curved, to take the round shape of the planets, with a layer of sapphire and anti-reflective protection. Each watch comes with an astronaut metal badge, numbered and unique.
